3 Things I NO Longer Need in My Home.

This week I wrangled Denton into helping me haul these three items away.

First up, a chair that has had no place to call home inside our house.  It’s a great chair, but it had to go.  Two years ago it was in Hayden’s room as his computer chair, but it was not comfortable to sit on for any length of time and we replaced it with a leather executive chair.  Now he can sit for hours!  Hahaha.

This rolling desk chair was in Liv’s room for several years, but she found a vintage stationary chair that she liked better that has arms.  So this one is going to live at someone else’s house.  There were six people, SIX, clustered around it when Denton and I left.  I think that Denton thought a fight might break out, so he very quickly went to the truck.  Or maybe it’s the fact that he dislikes thrift stores.  What is wrong with him?  Yes, mother, I cleaned the cat hair off of the chair.

Now this item I stopped in and talked to Vicki, the woman who manages our local Salvation Army, about earlier in the week.  We’ve had this electric fireplace in our downstairs den for a couple of years now and the insert stopped heating.  I absolutely hated the idea of taking this to the dump.  So, I stopped in and showed Vicki a picture of it and told her that we didn’t know what was wrong with it.  She said bring it on.  She said even if they don’t sell it to someone, she can set it up during the holidays with a tree and stockings for a decoration.  Win/win.  I didn’t have to take this to the dump and she gets use out of it.  Yay.

This beautiful bundle of goodness I picked up while we were at the Salvation Army.  I was chatting with Vicki while Denton and another man unloaded the fireplace and I spied this material laying on the counter behind her.  I asked if it was for sale and she said sure, $2.50.  Yes!  I can’t wait to show you what I did with it this weekend.

Look at those lovely rosettes.  I’ll do a proper DIY post about it on Tuesday.  You’re going to love it.

Well, that’s it for this weekly edition of things I NO longer need.  Did you clear out any of your clutter last week?
