What is it? 12.28.16

You all know my love for yard sales and thrift stores.  Every once in awhile, I’ll come upon something that completely baffles me.  Of course if you are at a yard sale you can say to the owner of the item, What the heck is this thing?, but not so much at a thrift store.  So I’ve decided that I’ll share them with you guys and maybe learn something along the way.

Here’s what’s stumping me this week.

Okay, I admit defeat on this one from the beginning.  I have absolutely NO idea what this thing is or does.  They had it stashed in the cutlery section of my local Salvation Army.

I even polled random people and they had no clue either.

Some type of large, weird roach clip left over from the 70’s?  Remember when we used to wear them in our hair with long leather strap’s and feathers at the ends?  Oh, sorry, I keep forgetting that not everyone was a girl in the 1980’s.

Inquiring minds need to know.  What is it?

Okay.  Hayden and I were in the city again and saw this thing at one of my Goodwill’s that I frequent.

I have absolutely NO idea what this one is.  Do you?

They had it stashed in the Christmas decorations.  It’s label says it’s silver, but the patina on it looks more like an aged brass to me.

I used to have one of these and it kind of reminds me of my Christmas candle spinner, but I’m not sure.

CHRISTMAS choir singers spinner Lighted Alpine Windmill Carousel with Candles 12"HOr like this one.

So, what is it?!?

I stopped in one of my haunts today and this was on the shelf.

It was about 18 inches across.  I could not for the life of me figure out what it was.  After I left, it finally occurred to me that if you turned it upside down, that it looks like a hanging basket, maybe.

What do you think?  Am I right?  Or is it something entirely different?
