I did my grocery shopping on Saturday this past week.  My goal was to drop the stuff we NO longer need at our house off at the Salvation Army and then hit the grocery store early.  Well.  We all know about best laid plans.  Our Salvation Army doesn’t open until 10:00 AM which is a real downer.

I also needed to drop off our recycle since I hadn’t done it earlier in the week and our house was being overrun by garbage.  Clean garbage, but garbage none the less.

Anywho.  All of that is to say that I didn’t even get to the grocery store until 11:00 AM, on a Saturday, and they were calling for snow on Sunday.  Sigh.  And sigh again.  I sincerely HATE grocery shopping.  But it’s done for the week, so yippee!

Here’s the breakdown of what we spent this week.

BTW:  My Food Lion had Klondike bars on sale for $1.99 for 6, woohoo!  So I bought some to stock our freezer with.  When I started to submit our receipts to Checkout 51 for the week, I was so happy to discover that I could get back $2.00 for them.  Yay!  Except, you had to buy them at WAL-MART where I did not purchase them.  Insert the sad sound from the Price is Right here.  So ANYWAY, if you want to get $2.00 back on two (six count) Klondike bars from Wal-Mart, do it today.  Everything resets tomorrow and it could disappear.

Kroger  $136.73 and Food Lion $68.59    Total spent for the Year:  $1,069.36
