peachoidHave any of you ever heard of a little show called House of Cards?  Denton finally convinced me to watch it and the first two seasons were amazing.  Or really, really scary depending on your outlook, since Robin Wright said that they are 99% accurate.  Shudder.

We haven’t watched any more of the seasons because we got caught up in other shows that were already available on Netflix.  Don’t have Netflix?  You can get your hot little hands on the show anyway here, here, here, and here.

Last year when we were car shopping I found an absolutely amazing deal on our new to us car.  In Greenville, SC.  We live in Virginia.  Why does this always shock everyone when I tell them how far we drove to pick up our new car?  We saved over $6,000.00 and Denton and I got to have an overnight vacation all.by.ourselves. in Charlotte, NC.   Win/win in my opinion.  Annnnd we had an incredible meal at Bacon Bros. Public House that you can read all about here.  Yum, it makes my mouth water to just think about it.

On our way down I-85 to Greenville, I glanced out my window and saw a giant peach standing beside the road.  It also said Gaffney up the base.  It was the water tower for the town of Gaffney, SC and it’s not just a made up thing like the imaginary BBQ joint Freddy’s from the first season that we were prepared to drive to DC to eat at.  Great BBQ is a serious matter at our house, see the link above.

We had already driven past it when I realized I needed a photo of this giant peach, so I made myself a mental note to make certain that I got a photo of it on the way home.  That wasn’t a problem because we sat in a parking lot on the interstate that afternoon for a couple of hours and I had plenty of time to make sure to have my camera ready.gaffneyI got the picture and yes it was very much worth it to drive across three states to pick up our new to us car.  Everyone thought we I was crazy so I’ll have to do a post about how to buy a car from another state and save a boatload of money in the process.

Did you know that the Peachoid was a real thing?
