I must have a book at hand to be able to function. Or a magazine. Or a shampoo bottle. Words are nourishment for my mind and are essential to my well-being. In this space each week I’ll tell you what I’m reading and you can tell me what you’re reading and we’ll all be happy!

Life. It cuts into my reading time. Does this happen to you too? School has already started back in our neck of the woods. Getting back into the groove of things is always a painful process when we’ve had the whole summer to lay about until 7:30 in the mornings. Ha!
But, we are making it. Here’s what I’ve been reading when I can steal 20 minutes here and there.
FICTION
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling
It’s been several years since I picked up the Harry Potter series of books and I wanted to see if they were truly as good as I remembered them being. They are. Truly. So far, over the past couple of weeks I have plowed through Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. They are awesome.
COOKBOOKS
Real Simple ~ Meals Made Easy by Editors of Real Simple Magazine
You know my love of magazines and this is one of my favorites. This is an amazing cookbook. You should check it out.
1,000 Places to See Before You Die by Patricia Schultz
This is a great book to keep on hand. It is laid out very well and easy to navigate. One of the reasons that I love it: if you are going to an area new to you, you can see if there is anything in that vicinity that will interest you and add it to your itinerary. Very informative and useful!
My magazines. You know my love of a real magazine. This week Good Housekeeping, Eating Well, Better Homes and Gardens, Rachel Ray Every Day, and All Recipes are all $5.00 each for a year! BTW, Cali had to be in this photo too. Pretty kitty feet.
All of this is what was on my nightstand this past week. What have you been reading?
