My beloved Fall has withered away, back into scorching summer.  Sob.  I am longing for cooler temperatures and some rain.  And it can stay until February, when we are allowed to have 1 WEEK of Winter.  Does anyone know of the this perfect place?  Anyone?

Here’s what I carved out time to read this week.

FICTION

The Circle by Dave Eggers

I wanted to like this book.  I truly did.  I don’t know if it was my mood, the weather or if this is just a book I’m not going to get into.  I don’t know, but after the first 100 pages and I was still forcing myself to read it, I finally said enough.  I’ll try it again in a few months and see what’s what then.

Omens by Kelley Armstrong

I REALLY liked this book.  Enough that I finished it in two days, and went back and got the second in the series and I’m halfway through it too.  I love to find a series of books to dive into!

Update:  You guys.  I have plowed through this entire series.  I love it.  Now I have to go and get her other books to see if I love them just as much!

COOKBOOKS

Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes by Martha Stewart

This is an absolutely beautiful book.  I can’t wait to try some of the recipes!

MAGAZINES

My magazines.  You know my love of a real magazine.  This week Country Living, Good Housekeeping, Eating Well, Better Homes and Gardens, Rachel Ray Every Day, Cosmopolitan and All Recipes are all $10.00 each for a year!

All of this is what was on my nightstand this past week.  What have you been reading?
