Mens Read Books, I Will Read Books tshirt 2XL BlackI must have a book at hand to be able to function.  Or a magazine.  Or a shampoo bottle.  Words are nourishment for my mind and are essential to my well-being.  In this space each week I’ll tell you what I’m reading and you can tell me what you’re reading and we’ll all be happy!

Where do you read?  I can read anywhere.  In the car – Hayden can’t do this, it makes him soooo sick – on a plane, at the DMV or post office, the bathtub, anywhere.  I always keep a book in my purse.  You never know when you’re going to be standing in a line with nothing to look at but the guy in front of you at the checkout in Wal-Mart who seriously needs a lesson on how to wear his pants so that the world can’t see what brand of underwear he favors, and that they need to be replaced.

Books!  The best friend you could ever have.

Here’s what I carved out time to read this week.

FICTION

Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton

I started this book late this week, so I’m only a few chapters into it.  I do LOVE the Stephanie Plum series though, so I have high hopes for this set of books!  I’ll keep you updated, it looks great so far!

Bitten and Stolen by Kelley Armstrong

I read Bitten this week and started Stolen.  My thoughts on these first two books in this series is conflicted.  Denton and I watched Bitten on Netflix before I knew that this was loosely based on the book.  Note to self:  Don’t skip then intro all the time!  You would then know if the series is based on a book!

So.  I have the TV series in my head while I’m reading and I’m actually having a hard time deciding if it’s the differences in the two that I don’t like, or if I am just not enjoying this set of books.

I do know this.  I am not liking this series of books as much as I enjoyed the Cainsville books.  But, I will continue on and hopefully get past all of the conflicts between the show and the book and let you know what I think then.

COOKBOOK

The Complete Cooking for Two Cookbook by America’s Test Kitchen

I was very excited to find this book.  I love watching them cook and explain all the things at America’s Test Kitchen, so this was an excellent find.

This is a very well done cookbook.  I love when they include photos – how else are you supposed to know that yours isn’t supposed to look like that – and this one goes even farther with a breakdown of things like, the visual difference between fresh mozzarella and low moisture mozzarella.  Love it!

MAGAZINES

My magazines.  You know my love of a real magazine. Here are all of the magazines that are all $10.00 or less for a year!

I actually enjoyed the Weddings magazine by Martha Stewart.  It’s beautiful with a lot of interesting information in it.  I assumed it would just be full of wedding gowns, but it also had info on travel, food, and recipes.  Yes!

All of this is what was on my nightstand this past week.  What have you been reading?

If you like this post, please share it.  Thank you!

Here are all of the other books I’ve been reading this year.
