Life. It gets in the way of reading, I tell you. Everything feels like it’s been in warp speed lately and it’s eating away at my reading time. Not good, people. Not good at all.
Denton managed to crack a tooth, by eating, of all things and we’ve gone to dentist’s and doctor’s and Urgent Care’s and root canal specialist’s and round and round and round it seems. I’ll give you an update about all that soon. It’s a doozy of a story that’s not over yet.
Here’s what I eeked out a slice of time to read over the past couple of weeks.
FICTION
The Chemist by Stephanie Meyer
If you looked at the author of this book and you didn’t like the whole vampire, werewolves love triangle of her other hit books, you may decide that you aren’t going to even give this book a try. At least that’s what I thought. Ahem. This book, in my humble opinion, knocks it out of the park. I really, really liked it. Just pretend that you’ve never heard of those other books, and you’ll enjoy it that much more!
PURSE BOOK
Living Well, Spending Less by Ruth Soukup
If you spend any time waiting, you need a purse book. Standing in line at the post office, at the grocery store, in the dentist’s office, on the metro, any time you are just waiting, whip out your purse book and take yourself away to another place entirely. Yes, you can mindlessly check Facebook, or twitter, but wouldn’t you rather be in a book?
I am LOVING this book. She is so genuine. You should definitely check this one out!
COOKBOOK
Fight Back With Food by Editors of Reader’s Digest
Another gorgeous full color cookbook. This one is packed FULL of good info on food I love too. For instance, Denton has always wondered how I made it to adulthood with dying of scurvy, or some other dreadful disease. Did you know that potatoes are full of Vitamin C? I didn’t either! That’s why I’m not dead! All I ate in high school was potatoes, morning, noon and night. Seriously! Anywho, this is an awesome book, you should get yourself a copy, pronto.
Roasted Harvest Vegetables. I’m in love. Doesn’t that look lovely?
MAGAZINES
My magazines. You know my love of a real magazine. These are the ones that I had on my nightstand this week.
All of these are on sale right now for $5.00! I love them.
If you like this post, please share it. Thank you!
Here are all of the other things I’ve been reading this year.
