ANNE OF GREEN GABLES Lucy Maud Montgomery Clay Mini Book Expandable Bangle Bracelet by Book Beads

Well, it’s been a while.  This is such a busy time of year.  I can’t even remember what we’ve done.  I know that we went home to see my family.  Denton cracked a tooth, eating something completely innocuous that turned into a nightmare.  I’ll tell you all about it when I can remember my name.  All of that to say, I’ve not had many moments to hide in my room with a book.  Or a magazine.  Or to read the back of the toilet paper plastic.

Things have slowed down, very slightly this week though.  Here’s what I read when I found a minute.

FICTION

The Forever Queen by Helen Hollick

I am already halfway through this book and I am loving it.  This time period (1002 – 1042) is utterly fascinating to me.  I absolutely would not want to be transported back there, but it’s so, so compelling to read about.  This is the best way to read history in my opinion.  Take a book that has been very well researched and turn it into a captivating story and you have gold.  Excellent!

COOKBOOK

Raglan Road by Kevin Dundon Neil Cubley

You know I can’t resist a beautiful cookbook.  This one is gorgeous.  It has so many, many lovely recipes that I want to try.  I’ll keep you posted.

Roasted Carrot and Garlic Soup.  Yes, please.  Doesn’t that sound divine?

MAGAZINES

My magazines. You know my love of a real magazine. These are the ones that I had on my nightstand this week.

HGTV, Food Network, O Magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens, and Rachel Ray Everyday are all on sale right now for $5.00!  I love them.

By the way I love this purse!!
