This book is one that I picked up the last time I went into the city and took a trip to what Liv calls the “Trash Store”. It’s actually a Goodwill Outlet thrift store, and if you need a laugh today, check out this post I wrote about one of my trips there.
I was trying to remember if I had actually read this book and I finally decided that if I had, it has to have been over 30 years ago. How sad!! So this one is going on my nightstand and I’m going to start it tonight. I know that this one is in pitiful condition, but I had to save it. Liv was very happy to have it and it cost me a whopping $0.25. Have you read it? Has it been 30 years?
Be thrifty has been my Purse book for the last couple of weeks and I have to say – You need to pick up this book!
It is stuffed and I mean stuffed with useful information. I am truly enjoying reading this one.
I am always reading from my giant pile of magazines. I just discovered that my local library would like them when I am finished with them. My librarian said that if it isn’t something they normally carry, they can put them out for people to check out, without adding that cost to the coffers. I never even thought of that, so check with your local library if you discard your magazines like I do. I normally send all of mine to the Salvation Army, but this way even more people will get use out of them!
If you want to start your own magazine pile, all the ones below are on sale right now for $5.00! I love them, I’m sure you will too!
That’s all I’ve got for now. What have you been reading? I’m always looking for a new book!

I read The Secret Garden many moons ago and again when my older girls were younger. It may be time to bring it back out for the younger girls…and me! Thank you for the reminder!
Ive never read The Secret Garden and I love Tasha Tudor’s story of herself, but also her illustrations.
For years I had a subscription to Country Living Magazine. I LOVED it!
Thanks for sharing what you’ve been reading!
It’s probably been 30 years for me too since I’ve read it! Thanks for joining my weekend linky party on Amanda’s Books and More!
First of all, love the socks! I have read The Secret Garden several times. A few years ago, I actually went on a Frances Hodgson Burdett kick and read everything I could find of hers. Most of them are available for free on Kindle. I really enjoyed The Lost Prince. It stuck with me for some reason. Thanks for sharing on Booknificent Thursday on Mommynificent.com!
