How’s your week going so far? It is cold, COLD here in our part of Virginia and I am longing for Spring. As always. I bought tomatoes at the grocery store yesterday and I wanted to cry. Winter tomatoes make me not want to eat tomatoes until June, when I can pick my own.
But, I’m planning on making taco’s this week and needs must. Do you have phrases like this rambling about in your head too? Did you know that the full phrase is “needs must when the devil drives”? Shakespeare used it in All’s Well That Ends Well, in 1601, so it’s been around for a while. And that concludes your history lesson for the day.
Here’s what we ate last week in no particular order:
Leftovers, I love leftovers day.
Hotdogs with chili and Coleslaw
Roast beef dinner with potatoes, carrots, and onions/roasted veggies for Liv with corn muffins
Roast beef sandwiches on garlic buns. Built in leftovers are the best.
Tuna sandwiches for me and Denton and frozen pizza for the kids.
Coca~Cola Pork Loin with baked potatoes, salad and rolls / Veggie burger with baked potato, cucumber and carrot sticks and a roll for Liv
Subway and Wendy’s. Liv and I made the mistake of grocery shopping on Sunday at 1:30 PM and by the time we got out of there I wanted to throat punch random strangers. Cooking was not high on my list of priorities, especially since I knew that everything we bought had to be carted into the house, and put away. So, I picked up a turkey sandwich on honey oat bread for me and the rest of the gang chose to eat from the lovely Wendy’s.
What’s for supper at your house? What are you going to eat this week? I’m planning my meals for this week out of our freezer. I love being able to do that. I tell Denton periodically that the best present he ever gave me was my giant standup freezer. And I actually mean it. That thing saves us boatloads of money every year. Stay warm!
