May Recap: All the Things I NO Longer Need

Please excuse the sideways photos!  I somehow damaged them in the upload, and I can’t turn them.  My thoughts are – sideways photos are better than no photos.  Right?  Right.

I was about to do a post about all of the things that we donated this past weekend (that post will go up soon!) when I realized that I hadn’t done a post about all of the rest of the stuff that we donated in May.  Liv and I made multiple trips to and fro, to our local Salvation Army and it feels so good to unload all of the stuff that we don’t need cluttering up our house.  So here we go!

Two mismatched, random lamps from Liv’s room that we no longer need.  A trash basket that looks lovely, but it holds onto Wal-mart bags for dear life.  The original holder for the toilet brush and a lonely headband.  I’ll do a post about where I keep our toilet bowl brushes now.  By the way, can you see my $1.00 crocheted tablecloth in the background on the dining room table?  I LOVE that thing.

Those two lamps above got replaced with two new-to-us lamps for Liv’s room.  These were the original shades, so off they go to live in someone else’s house.

Two school bags that Liv no longer needs.  I keep finding more of these things.  They are multiplying in the closets at night!

A pair of curtains that I replaced in my bathroom…….

More clothes from the never-ending pile that Liv decluttered months ago.  We are nearing the end of that ginormous pile, I promise!

An extra tea kettle.  Why do I have so many extras of everything?!?  At least I’m FINALLY letting them go.  My beloved magazine pile that I’ve already read, and more random bits and bobs.

Books and magazines.  Have any of you read Twelve by Jasper Kent?  I tried, I truly did, but I could not get into this book.   I read over 100 pages and it still wasn’t drawing me in, so off it goes.

One lonely cookbook.  Pitiful.  I have decided that if I bring home another cookbook, I MUST get rid of at least ten in its place.  I am swimming in cookbooks.  But I love them so!

Annnnd more clothes.

And even more magazines.

And the dresses……

These are the things that we hauled away in May.  Are you getting rid of things you no longer need?  I would love to hear all about it!

  1. My SO is a vet; we both donate our magazines to the VA where he gets his care. We just remove our name labels and drop them on tables or shelves where magazines are kept. Can you imagine getting to read a July 2018 magazine in most dr.’s offices? Tons of the magazines there are several years old; I can’t imagine why anyone would want a Time, Newsweek, or even People that old. At least Better Homes and Gardens may have some good recipes! I left others at a nursing home where a friend now lives, too. When I get a chance for a free subscription, his daughter and my friend are tops on that list, too!
