I woke up this morning (at 3:40 AM) thinking about this.  Maybe I need some chips.

A few years ago we were at my parents for Thanksgiving, as we usually are.  My Mama and I were sitting at the kitchen table and there was a plate of tortilla chips just sitting there asking to be eaten.

My Mama reaches over and picks one up and eats it.  She pauses and says, Where did you get these chips?  They taste really weird.  I said, What do you mean weird?  And she said, Really bland, like they don’t have any salt on them.

And just then, my daughter breezes through and says very casually, That’s because I licked all the salt off of those chips Mamaw.

Uhhhhhm.  Euwwwwww.

Beware of lonely, random plates of chips this Holiday season.  You don’t know who has been licking them when you aren’t looking.  At least at my house – or my Mama’s.
