No Country For Old Men.  Have you seen it?  First thing – I cannot believe that I haven’t told y’all about this movie before now.  This is one of my favorites, hands down.

Here’s the tag line:

Violence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon a drug deal gone wrong and more than two million dollars in cash near the Rio Grande.

My Daddy first alerted me to this movie more than a decade ago.  He even gave me the dvd so that I wouldn’t have to hunt it down myself.  What in the world did we do before Netflix and Amazon?  We had to hunt down dvd’s ourselves that’s what.  Unless you have a Daddy like mine.

Before this was a film it was a book written by Cormac McCarthy by the same title.  If you’ve never read one of his books, you need to run to the library today.  Just keep in mind that all of the stuff that I’ve read by him is dark.  Excellent, truly excellent, but dark.  So you may need to take periodic breaks to watch videos like this one.

Okay, if you are still with me let’s get back to the film.  I’ve enjoyed films with Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin for years.  However, this movie is where I was introduced to Javier Bardem.  Wow.  Just wow.  He is incredible.  Especially in this role.  We’ve watched this film at least three times in the last year.  I know that Hayden has watched it many more times than I have.  It is extraordinary.

If all of those adjectives aren’t enough to get you to watch it, it also has Woody Harrelson and he is phenomenal in his role too.

Go watch it tonight and let me know what you think.

Skyfall.  Have you seen it?

You know my love of 007 movies and the like.  I think this baffles my family, but they generally go along with it.  This is one of the best 007 movies, in my humble opinion.  Have I said this before about other James Bond films?  Perhaps, but this time its true.

Daniel Craig is an awesome Bond and I will be sad to see him turn in his persona soon.  Judi Dench is a favorite as M too.  But part of my love for this particular Bond film is this guy:

Javier Bardem.  He is amazing.  And I just realized that I’ve never told you my love for the movie No Country For Old Men.  Oh. My. Word.  This man is a chameleon.  He plays the nemesis in this movie.  That’s not a spoiler.  There’s always a bad guy, right?  He is also hilarious, in a creepy way.  I bet he would be great fun to hang out with in real life.  So Javier, if you are reading this send me a private message and we can get our families together!

As usual, there are chase scenes, gun fights, and things will blow up in an unbelievable manner.  It’s a James Bond movie!  Let me know if you’ve seen this one.  And what you think of Javier Bardem.  And as much as I’ve loved all of his movies so far, please don’t suggest that I watch mother!.  I just can’t.  I already gain new gray hairs daily from my family sneaking up behind me while I’m cooking.  Which is dangerous enough.
