What I’m reading this week:  Paul Hollywood’s British Baking

Paul Hollywood's British Baking Hardcover – December 9, 2014 by Paul Hollywood (Author) I have a great love of the Great British Baking Show.  It’s all Denton’s fault.  He loves it too.  I asked him for a Mary Berry cookbook for my Christmas present last year.  Before he could forget to buy it for me, I found a lovely one at one of my local thrift stores for $1.99.  Don’t you love it when that happens?  My Mama has always said if you wait long enough you will find anything you want or need at yard sale.  And it’s true.

Paul Hollywood's British Baking Hardcover – December 9, 2014 by Paul Hollywood (Author) I went in a few days later and I found this one by Paul Hollywood sitting on the same shelf that I found the Mary Berry one on.  And this one is a serious winner.

I made Denton wrap them and put them under the tree and on Christmas morning Hayden and I spent a couple of hours reading it.  That should tell you how amazing it really is.  Hayden has never opened one of my cookbooks in his life.  And he is surrounded by them.

The recipes are amazing.  It’s also a beautiful book.  Now I just need to get off the couch and try some of these recipes.  Reading is so much more pleasurable than cooking, isn’t it?

Paul Hollywood's British Baking Hardcover – December 9, 2014 by Paul Hollywood (Author) I highly recommend this one!

  1. My husband and I are big fans of the show, too. We’re also watching the British Sewing Bee on Youtube. It’s good! I like how the contestants aren’t snotty to each other. I don’t watch reality show for that reason. There’s enough hate in the world without me watching it on tv.
It doesn’t hurt that Mr. Hollywood is yummy himself! Although, I have a notion that he’s quite a turd.
