I read this book when it came out in 2003.  In the last week, I’ve had multiple people say that they have picked it up to read it, and it made me want to read it again to see if it was really as good as I thought it was the first time.

I never did watch the movie, so I have no comparison there.  Two of the people who said they were reading it right now, seriously disliked it.  So now I’m off to see if it really was a good book!  Have you read it?  Did you like it?

Barefoot Contessa Family Style by Ina Garten

I LOVE Ina Garten’s books.  I love her show even more.  Her books are beautiful with easy to follow directions.  Just by looking at the cover of this book, I want to go home and make french toast.  Yum.

She just makes everything seem so effortless.  I love that!  You should pick up one of her books to browse through if you haven’t already.  You won’t be sorry.

Sink Reflections by Marla CilleyThe FlyLady

You can tell that I haven’t been standing in many lines this past month, can’t you.  This is still my current “Purse” book.  Have you ever heard of the FlyLady?  I have followed her for YEARS.  The book is great.  It’s full of useful information and great tips.  My problem is:  I love reading books about cleaning and organizing and I DON’T love actually doing the cleaning and organizing.  Sigh.  Now I just need to implement everything I’m reading.

  1. My husband really enjoyed The Time Traveler’s Wife as I recall, and we both enjoy Ina’s books and shows. Thanks for sharing this at Booknificent Thursday on Mommynificent.com!
