What’s for Supper? Weekly Meal Plan 06.25.18

I know this is late.  It’s back to normal life for us.  We’ve been away on vacation with my entire immediate family (on my side) and it was glorious.  We rented a house at the beach for all eleven of us and I have to say it was one of the best vacations we’ve taken together.  We had a wonderful time, but it just didn’t last long enough.  My six year old nephew told my mother that he wanted to stay for 10 years, lol.

We only went out to eat ONCE the entire week.  But it wasn’t a hardship to cook, because we had a great kitchen and yummy food to eat together.

Here’s what we ate last week in no particular order, because, well, I can’t remember when we did what!

The one night we ate out for supper was at a local restaurant called Sharky’s.  Their seafood was great.  I recommend it if you are ever visiting Ocean Isle Beach, NC.  I ate the scallops and shrimp from the seafood platter and they were delicious.  One of my nephews ate the Mahi Mahi and it looked absolutely amazing.

Even our vegetarian ate well.  Liv ordered hush puppies, sautéed veggies and garlic mashed potatoes (I ate her leftovers for lunch the next day and they were awesome).  She was happy.

I won’t list out everything we ate, but it was all good!  Beach food is the best.


Here is the rest of the food we ate in no particular order:

  • Spiral cut ham, buttered potatoes, green beans, garlic fried broccoli with toast.
  • Hamburgers, chips, cantaloupe, pickles and baked beans that we forgot to actually make.
  • Rib-eyes, baked potatoes, salad, cantaloupe and toast.
  • My mama’s Italian chicken, baked potatoes, salad, cantaloupe and toast.
  • Our last night there, we had a smorgasbord to eat everything we had accumulated during the week.  It was delicious.
  • I have no idea what one of the dinner’s was.  I’m sure it was yummy, and if my mama actually remembers I’ll update this!

We also ate so many other tasty things throughout the week:  pistachios, ice cream cones, popsicles, sandwiches – oh the leftover ham was, so, SO good! – homemade popcorn.  My mother brought her popcorn maker, we are serious about popcorn in our family, and I think I’m going to invest in one of these babies.  They make delicious popcorn.  Trailmix, chips, fruit, and water, water, and more water!

We ate so much great food, I know I have forgotten more than half of it.  I hope you had a great week and get to spend some of your summer with the people you love most!
