Did you go into any thrift stores or yard sales last week?  We aren’t having yard sales in my part of the world yet, but the thrift stores are always here.

Here’s what I found last week.

A beautiful Christmas church that lights up inside.  I love it.  And best of all $1.99!

These pretty little coffee cups.  Olivia has one cup of coffee every morning before she goes off to conquer high school.  But, she drinks tea like it’s going out of style.  These are perfect for that.  They are from England.  I found eight of them.  There are three different styles, New York, London and Paris.  Lovely. $4.72 for all eight.

This pretty pair of lamps, I bought with the intention of putting them on Etsy, but Liv saw them and fell in love.  I guess we’ll be keeping them and replacing something in her room, but for $3.00 each, I think we can stand the sacrifice.

$0.99 cents for 5 incandescent light bulbs.  Yes!  I have no idea how old these are, but we still use incandescent bulbs in certain spots in our house.  All of the others have been replaced with LED’s.

I am in love with this little concrete basket.  Can’t you see mint spilling out of it on my front porch?  I can.  And this way the mint is contained and won’t choke out every other thing in my front flower beds.  $1.99

A dish pan.  That’s what this is called in my family.  Until this very moment, I’ve never even questioned why we call these giant bowls that.  I am going to assume that someone used them to wash dishes in at some point in time.  We never did that though.  My Mama always popped popcorn on the stove and this is what we all devoured it from.  Anywho, I had one of these little lovelies, and it disappeared.  I have a sneaking suspicion that my amazing, bearded husband had something to do with the disappearing, but I don’t know that for a fact.  I found one at a yard sale last summer and the lady wanted $20.00 for it!  This is the only other one I’ve seen in a few years of hunting for one, at a yard sale that is.  $1.99 is awesome!

All in all I spent  a whopping $17.68 on everything.  What great deals did you find this week?

  1. That big bowl is DEFINITELY a mixing bowl! Great for popcorn or potato salad for a church supper! Those lamps are just beautiful; unusual to see a teenage who appreciates vintage! Tell her cranberry glass is made with gold and she’ll be even prouder of herself for choosing them! I’d love to see your Christmas village all set up; I’ve seen 3 buildings so far in the your posts so far!
