I have to admit that I love to read, do you?  I am wildly waving my hand in the air like the smartest kid in class who can’t wait to answer the teacher’s question because they know all the correct answers. (Which was not me in school, ever).  Mrs. Coleman, my French teacher for four years can attest to this.  Why do we believe that we can hide in plain sight in a classroom of twenty people?!?

Anywho, I love to have people give me book recommendations because sometimes its hard to sift through the chaff to get to the good ones.

I just finished The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.  I have to say that I am on the fence about this book.  It took me three days to read it, when most people say that they devour it in an afternoon.

For me, it was very slow, not just in the beginning, but through the middle and right up until the last 30 pages.  Don’t get me wrong, it was a very well written book, with an interesting story line, just very slow in my opinion.  I think the problem I had with the whole thing was the anticipation that the other authors built up on the cover of the book.  When a great author of another book touts the book as “tense, thrilling, on the edge of my seat”, I kinda expect tense, thrilling, on the edge of my seat.  Which this book didn’t deliver in my humble opinion.

Have you read it?  What did you think?

And what have you been reading, do tell.
