One of the best things, in my opinion, about yard sales and thrift stores are the books. We love books at our house and we buy a LOT of them throughout the year. But, I don’t want to go broke; ergo, yard sales and thrift stores.
If you are worried that the authors are getting the shaft when you buy a used book, here is an excellent article about buying used versus new. And yes, we still buy new books too. Who doesn’t love stepping into a Barnes and Noble? The smell alone draws me in, just like a library.

Hello again! I finally gathered together everything that I needed to show you what books we found in January – just in time for the end of February. That’s neither here nor there though is it? Life happens, right?
Some of them I bought for gifts, they just haven’t been given yet; other’s I bought for our reading pleasure to then be passed on to other voracious readers like ourselves. A few we gathered up to keep on our shelves to be read over and over. Have fun trying to figure out which is which!
Here’s all of the lovely books we found in January:
Mr. Majestyk by Elmore Leonard
The School for Good and Evil #2: A World without Princes by Soman Chainani
