My mother and I are in some ways a lot alike.  And in other ways we are direct opposites.

One of those opposites is the quiet.  My momma has to have sound around her at all times.  Even if she is sitting quietly, she wants music on the background.  Not me.  I looooove the quiet.  Especially when I’m reading.  Good thing my teenagers like to spend time alone in their rooms.

But when I am doing some mindless task that doesn’t require me to concentrate, for instance filing paperwork –I hate filing paperwork– I’ll turn on YouTube and listen.  I’ve started noticing that I can go through phases with particular songs.  Here are some of my favorites right now.

The Digital Age.  Fall Afresh.  I love this song.

United Pursuit.  Simple Gospel.  Love this one too.

Kari Jobe.  Here.  She is amazing!

Shane & Shane.  Scandal of Grace.  Great song.  Love my brother’s version better though!

My brother is my source for every single one of these songs.  He find’s the best stuff!

And of course Katy Perry.  I love her new song Rise.  I’m sure you’ve heard it unless you live in the same cave as me.  It’s great to have teenagers who find great music too.
