What’s for Supper? Our Weekly Meal Plan

If I don’t make a meal plan for the week, disaster strikes every.single.time.  We will end up eating out two or three times when it’s completely unnecessary.  I like to plan our meals out because the cost is so high.  I don’t want to spend our hard earned money on a drive-through when we can have a much better sit down meal out together for about the same price.

When I do my weekly shopping trip, whether it’s on a Saturday – God forbid, but it happens; Sunday – Heaven help us all; or Monday after I leave my office – better but not the best; ooooorrrr, if I have Denton do it on Monday – YES!!  the BEST solution, I try to always make a meal plan.

Regardless of when the shopping gets taken care of, I always check out the stores sales and build my weekly meal plan around the sales.  Even better, when I get to the store and find things on “Clearance”.  Caveat – this only works when I do the shopping.  One of the perks of having Denton do the shopping is the fact that he WILL NOT DEVIATE from the list.  This hampers finding things on clearance because they are invisible to him.  But, it keeps us on budget!

For instance, when I did the shopping this Saturday – the horror, I found bone-in center cut pork chops on clearance for $6.02.  Great deal.  I also found chicken wings on sale for $8.62.

Here is what I have scheduled for this weeks suppers.  I’ll try to remember to take photos!
