Are you ready for Christmas?  I always feel a slight panic on Christmas Eve.  Did I get everyone everything they asked for?  NO.  Do I have everything I need for the next few days food-wise?  NO.  (ALL of my grocery stores were out of egg nog, cranberry sauce, confectioners sugar, and karo syrup.  They were lunatic asylums on Saturday.) Am I going back to the store for anything?  NO.

Now, as always, I take a deep breath and tell myself that everything is fine.  We have a lovely house that is safe, warm and happy.  Everyone has presents to open tomorrow (that I still haven’t wrapped) and we have a LOT of yummy food in the kitchen to eat.

I love how Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fell this year.  I started my Christmas cooking on Sunday with a buttered turkey breast, I’m making a spiral ham tonight for Christmas Eve and we are going to have a banquet of leftovers tomorrow on Christmas day.  Perfect!

Anywho……here are some of the things we ate last week in no particular order:

Dickey’s Barbeque Pit.  It was fine.  But, what stunned me was the fact that I ordered a three meat meal and this is what they gave me.  I always take most of it home for Denton and Hayden to eat on sandwiches for the next three days.  This is not a three meat portion meal, but I didn’t argue with them about it.  I just won’t make the mistake of eating there again.

A BLT with chips and garlic stuffed olives.  YUM.

Chicken salad on toast.  I love it.

Sunday’s supper was my buttered turkey breast, with green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing and rolls.  It was amazing as always and I can’t wait to eat the leftovers.  The recipe for this turkey breast is so easy and you will be so, so happy with the results.  You have to try this.

Fake lasagna and garlic bread.  The best.

What would my week look like without soup beans and salmon, with all of the yumminess that accompany them?

Leftover, and more yummy leftovers.

What’s for supper at your house?  What are you going to eat this week?  Inquiring minds need to know!
